Strategy review

We are excited to share some important news with you! As part of our ongoing commitment to effective advocacy and navigating a future filled with uncertainty and change, FOWB is embarking on a comprehensive strategy review. This review is designed to incorporate essential foresighting work to help us explore potential future scenarios for the Willunga Basin.

To ensure that our approach remains refined and proactive, we will be launching a member survey in May. This survey is a vital part of the process, as it will allow us to gather your crucial insights and shape the future direction of our advocacy efforts. Your input is invaluable to us, and we look forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas. Please keep an eye out for the survey coming via email in May.

Tuit Road Wave Pool

The Council Assessment Panel meeting to hear the variation to the approved wave pool was held on March 27. Amidst a powerful community presence, FOWB’s submission to the CAP was centered around:

  • Adverse effects on the character value of the immediate area from the light towers and extended hours of operation,

  • Adverse noise and light impacts on neighbouring residences and environment, and

  • Water resourcing and management.

The application was subsequently withdrawn mid-April. Currently before the courts is a Judicial Review in opposition to planning consent. We will keep you updated.
